Description of Contract Work:

Trades Included: Historical Masonry Restoration, new Masonry, Stucco, Waterproofing, Copper, Built-up and Slate Roof Replacement, Lead Abatement, Painting, Plumbing and Electrical Investigation & Upgrades.

Renovation of 11,300 SF Most Holy Trinity Chapel, multi-disciplined scope included performance of following work and trades:

  • Masonry Repairs to existing Chapel, Rectory and Cloister structures, including, removal and reinstallation of coping cap stones, copper counter and thru wall flashing; removal & re-pointing of all ashlar granite stone, limestone, precast and brick fa�ade; cleaning and seal coating of all walls after re-pointing; repair, removal & replacement of ornate limestone arches and window surrounds,

  • Removal and cataloging of each masonry element to be reused one-by-one to reinstall original locations after water infiltration repairs. Existing mortar was lab tested to match new mortar to existing mix and color.

  • Waterproofing work included removal & disposal of existing flagstone and lightweight concrete down to existing structural deck for entire front entrance deck, including removal & reinstallation new deck drains, new waterproofing membrane, new concrete cover and new flagstone to match existing.

  • Cloister Entrance Deck Area Restoration included removal, disposal, repair & replacement of damaged flag stone to match existing, historical restoration of existing structural and decorative limestone archways, including replacement of deteriorated historical sculptural moldings by new moldings replicating existing, and removal, repair & replacement of stucco finish ceiling to match existing.

  • Roofing work included complete removal, disposal and replacement of existing built-up, copper and slate roofing systems, including flashings, insulation, gutters, downspouts, snow guards and accessories. Replacement work also included partial replacement of existing roof substrates suffered heavy water damage.

  • Electrical Upgrade work included inspection of the Chapel and Rectory�s existing electrical system, wiring and accessories and preparation of an investigative report by a PE. Collette performed Investigative Report and all necessary electrical upgrade work to comply to comply with current NEC, NEMA and NFPA standards.

  • Painting work included painting of all exterior wood and metal surfaces after lab test of existing paint to match existing.

  • Lead Based Paint Abatement work included removal and disposal of lead based paint from all wood and metal surfaces to be painted, in accordance with federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. Hazardous Waste Disposal Manifest was submitted to legal authorities after disposal.
