Project consisted of interior and exterior historical renovations to Ramsey Train Station originally built in 1860s. The building was in despair condition both structurally and aesthetically, and had received various non-historical renovations over the years. Collette Contracting removed all non-historical additions, surveyed and cataloged all historical items to preserve true historical value of the building. Rotted or unusable building members were saved and preserved for reproduction to their original size, shape and finish. In addition, the buildings foundation, walls and roof structure were reinforced to withstand imposing loads & nearby vibration for years to come. All works performed in strict accordance with NJ Transit Safety Requirements as, the station was functioning at all times. Interior works included removal of all interior non-historical finishes, removal of historical members for repair and reproduction, removal of doors, windows, plumbing, furniture repairs & refinishing, HVAC and electrical fixtures; restoration, production and installation of new wall paneling, trims, moldings, ceiling crown molding, doors, windows, floor tiles, new plumbing, HVAC, electrical, fire alarm and sprinkler system and fixtures. Exterior renovation included lead abatement, masonry restoration, pointing & cleaning, new slate roofing (including structural repairs), restoration, production and installation of exposed roof brackets, exterior lighting and site clock. Collette Contracting Incorporated has completed the works within the scheduled completion date, and performance surpassed all contract requirements with complete satisfaction of the client.
