Description of Contract Work: |
Decommission Two Sludge Digester at Stewart Army Sub-Post, inclusive of: - Demolition & removal of two floating roof lids and appurtenances, external & internal steel members - Environmental Protection - Traffic maintenance - Steel works - Rough carpentry - Removal and disposal of sewage sludge inside digesters - Gravel fill & Concrete - Equipment: crane, generators, heavy sludge pumps, vacuum trucks, concrete core driller, conveyor. - Protective equipment: tyvek suits, full face respirators, dumpsters lined with heavy polyethylene.
Decommissioning two sludge digester include environmental protection, removing & disposing of existing two 26.5� dia. concrete filled floating steel roof lids, internal and external steel works; mixing thick sludge to bring to pumpable consistency, removing and disposing of 260,500 gallons of sewage sludge to NY State approved facility, cleaning & disinfecting inside concrete sludge tanks, gravel filling of digesters to 13� high, and capping with concrete. Concrete tanks are core drilled for drainage to allow storm water discharge from the digesters. All works are being accomplished within occupied areas and active roads, and coordinated works in strict accordance with local and state environmental agencies, as well as strict US Military Academy requirements. Due to nature of the operation, Collette Contracting Incorporated has paid special attention to protect lives and health of employees and other persons by adhering its Health & Safety Plan, COE EM 385-1-1, and OSHA rules and regulations. Collette Contracting�s performance on this project surpassed all contract requirements and exceeded many to the government�s benefit.
Although extra work encountered during the course of the project, Collette Contracting completed this 75 day project without additional cost and 6 days ahead of schedule to complete satisfaction of the client. |
